This kit depicts the Japanese Light Cruiser Kuma in its 1939-1940 guise. The original ship was laid down in 1918 and the model shows features typical of the era, including three straight funnels, a simple bridge and single 14cm gun mounts.
Kuma class cruisers carried out escort and reconnaissance duties. The kit faithfully reproduces small-scale fittings like degaussing lines and anchors molded into the sprues, and it offers choices for armament to reflect historical variations.
With a completed length of 230mm, this kit provides a detailed yet manageable project. The set includes waterslide decals for authentic insignia and a metal piece intended to assist flotation and improve display balance.
