The Tamiya 1/700 Japanese Light Cruiser Isuzu kit allows modellers to reproduce a historically significant vessel. Commissioned in 1923 as a Nagara-class cruiser, Isuzu was converted into an anti-aircraft cruiser in 1944. This model emphasises those wartime alterations, including radar fittings and revised armament layouts.
Isuzu served for many years before being sunk by U.S. submarines in 1945. The kit gives a clear representation of the ships later wartime appearance and is useful for comparative study with other period vessels.
The completed model measures about 200mm and benefits from Tamiyas precise parts fit. Builders will find the kit rewarding when focusing on scale-accurate detailing and neat finishing techniques.
