The Tamiya 1/700 Hibiki kit recreates the look of this Type III destroyer with careful attention to wartime fittings. Entering service in 1933, Hibiki took part in actions such as Malaya, Kiska and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. The model captures defining class elements for historically minded builders.
As one of the survivors of the conflict, Hibiki attracts historical interest. The kit shows the narrow fore funnel and the triple 25mm anti-aircraft mounts that were installed in 1944, enabling accurate representation of the ship's later-war configuration.
The completed model measures 157mm in length and suits grouped displays with Akatsuki and Fubuki variants. The box contains alternative armament options, a small metal balance weight, and waterslide decals. Detailed pictorial instructions support precise assembly and finishing.
