The USS Cushing (DD-797) was among the Fletcher-class destroyers active in World War II, completed in 1944 and taking part in actions such as the Battle of Leyte Gulf. This 1/700 waterline kit reflects the ship's late-war refit, notably the expanded anti-aircraft array and the squared-off bridge profile, for an authentic period representation.
The model includes faithfully represented armament: five 12.7cm guns, a quintuple 533mm torpedo mount and the era-appropriate AA weapons. Radar fittings and small detail parts are finely cast to improve realism. Decals for hull numbers and the US flag are supplied to match the illustrated finish.
Comprehensive instructions cover assembly steps and painting guidance to recreate wartime camouflage schemes. The finished kit makes a compact, historically informed display model suitable for cabinets or naval collections.
