The Jagdtiger represented the extreme end of armoured firepower in the Second World War. Introduced in 1943, it featured the massive 12.8 cm gun on a King Tiger chassis and a fixed fighting compartment with frontal protection up to 250 mm. Though fielded in limited numbers, it saw combat beginning during the Ardennes Offensive in December 1944 and remained in action into April 1945.
Tamiya's 1/48 Jagdtiger kit recreates the vehicle's heavy profile and complex undercarriage. The parts layout highlights the suspension geometry and hull form, while the supplied link-type tracks allow builders to replicate the natural sag that gives models an authentic stance when displayed.
