The Sd.Kfz. 131 Marder II was a wartime adaptation that paired the Panzer II chassis with a 75mm PaK 40 gun to create a capable tank destroyer from 1942. Employed largely on the Eastern Front, it relied on concealed firing positions and mobility to engage enemy armour.
Tamiya's 1/35 kit reproduces the Marder II with an exposed fighting compartment highlighting the gun breech and ammunition stowage. The included 75mm main gun is movable, and authentic kit extras such as the radio rack, wooden boxes and shell cartridges reinforce the period look.
This model provides a satisfying build that results in a convincing museum-style piece or diorama subject. Belt-type tracks and two crew figures are supplied to add life to the scene. The instruction booklet is pictorial and waterslide decals are supplied to aid accurate finishing. You can show the gun travel lock either deployed or stowed for different display moods.
