The Tamiya 1/35 Marder 1A2 MICV kit reproduces a significant NATO infantry fighting vehicle with attention to outer detail and assembly clarity. It is aimed at modellers who value authentic appearance and solid construction methods.
Initial Marder concepts began in the 1960s and reflected earlier HS30 influences. During development the engine position was shifted to the forward right area to refine vehicle layout. The 1A2 model incorporated the Milan antitank system and underwent staged updates while in service.
Tamiya's kit includes dark brown plastic parts, a well-detailed external finish, flexible tracks and a turnable turret. The model shows engine components and service hatches, plus two bust figures for the commander and driver to enhance presentation options.
The pictorial instructions and waterslide decals help achieve accurate markings. For best results, test-fit assemblies, use appropriate adhesives and plan paint stages. A light wash and matt varnish will help highlight panel seams and structural detail.
