The Tamiya 35265 model allows scale modellers to recreate the M113A2 armoured personnel carrier in 1/35 scale. The kit reflects the vehicle's service role and its contribution to logistics and troop movement during the 2003 Iraq conflict.

Background and Technical Changes

Manufacture of the M113A2 began in June 1979 following lessons from earlier deployments. The upgrade package included a better transmission, stiffer suspension and improved engine cooling. Designers relocated fuel tanks to safer positions, fitted smoke dischargers at the front and used Combat Identification Panels to limit friendly fire during Gulf operations.

Detailed Kit Contents

Tamiya's faithful 1/35 kit reproduces external fittings such as the trim vane, smoke launcher assemblies and external fuel tanks. The set contains stowage items, ammunition boxes and two crew figures to pose as a commander and driver. Decal options let you depict units from Iraq or Bosnia-Herzegovina.
