The Semovente M40 was an Italian self-propelled gun drawing on the Sturmgeschutz III layout. Using the Carro Armato M13/40 chassis, it carried a 75mm howitzer and had armor up to 50mm to protect its crew. It was introduced into North African operations from late 1941 and fulfilled both support and direct engagement roles.
This Tamiya 1/35 representation reproduces the Semovente M40s compact profile; the assembled model measures around 143mm long. The kit provides assembly-type tracks along with realistic tools and exhaust guards. Photo-etched parts are furnished for the identification plate and the anti-aircraft sight. Two figures are included—a standing officer and a seated driver—together with three marking options and decals.
