Assemble the Tamiya 1/35 Panther Ausf.D replica

The Tamiya 1/35 German Medium Tank Panther Ausf.D model kit provides UK modellers with a faithful scale representation of a key World War II tank. Developed to counter the T-34, the Panther was fitted with the L/70 7.5cm gun for extended reach. The sloped armour layout, drawing from the T-34, delivered a balance of protection and mobility with top speeds near 55 km/h.

Early production and combat role

The Panther Ausf.D was the first production model, with 842 units produced between January and September 1943. Although early production led to some reliability concerns, the chassis and gun combination proved effective in combat, notably at Kursk. This kit captures important details including smoke dischargers and the rear panel arrangement.

Features that matter to scale modellers

This newly-tooled release reproduces the Panther's hull lines and long barrel with accuracy. Expect belt-type tracks and separate muzzle brake components for improved authenticity. Most hatches are modelled to move, while the small arms port remains fixed.
