Tamiya 1/16 JGSDF Type 10 Model Introduction

The Tamiya 1/16 scale Type 10 kit offers a faithful reproduction of the modern JGSDF main battle tank. Produced with reference to JGSDF sources, the model reflects the 120mm smoothbore armament, the vehicle's angular armour panels and a compact turret layout, while surface texturing gives a tactile, realistic finish.

Construction Materials and Model Accuracy

An aluminium barrel is fitted to replicate the main gun, and metal parts are used for the chassis, drive sprockets and suspension arms to enhance authenticity. The kit includes a commander torso and provides three marking options to portray multiple unit styles.

Operational Features and Evolution

Approved in 2010, the Type 10 brings modern battlefield systems such as a 120mm L/44 smoothbore with stabiliser and automatic tracking, and it can be integrated with C4I systems. Mobility is delivered by a 1,200hp diesel powerplant and hydraulic semi-active suspension, and modular armour supports improved protection and logistics compared with previous models.
