Serious racers will recognise the Tamiya 42162 - 1/10 TRF416X as a product shaped by on-track development. Tamiya gathered extensive race feedback to evolve the TRF416 series, and the TRF416X carried that work into later production runs. Its competition history includes notable appearances such as the 2010 IFMAR World Championship.
The chassis layout delivers targeted improvements in handling. The motor has been nudged 1mm toward the centre to refine centre of gravity, and the rear ball differential is moved 1.8mm rearwards to strengthen traction and acceleration. These changes aim to produce consistent behaviour under braking and on corner exit.
Manufactured with precision carbon fibre decks, the TRF416X uses a 2.25mm lower deck and a 2mm upper deck for enhanced stiffness. A wider front bulkhead attachment and a revised lower deck shape add front-end stability. Direct coupling of the front and centre pulleys helps maintain efficient power transfer.
The TRF416X rewards drivers who focus on setup and tuning, offering a stable, responsive chassis for competitive touring events and serious practice sessions.
