Carbon Fibre Front Suspension Enhancement for TRF101

The Tamiya 42286 Carbon Fiber Front Suspension Set upgrades the TRF101 chassis with precision carbon parts and reinforced metal mounts. The combination reduces unwanted flex and helps maintain consistent suspension geometry during demanding use.

2.5mm Carbon Arms for Stable Response

This set includes upper and lower arms made from 2.5mm carbon fibre, selected to offer a steady balance of rigidity and controlled compliance. The symmetrical lower arms help ensure repeatable handling characteristics.

Reinforced Aluminium Mounting Pieces

Aluminium suspension mounts and a servo mount are part of the kit to strengthen attachment points and protect alignment. These metal parts assist in keeping setup stable under heavy loads.

Specifications

  • Upper Arm Thickness: 2.5mm Carbon Fiber
  • Lower Arm Thickness: 2.5mm Carbon Fiber
  • Mount Materials: Aluminum
  • Compatibility: TRF101, TRF101W (requires additional parts for TRF101W)
It is compatible with TRF101W but requires two 3x55mm turnbuckle shafts (sold separately) to set the narrow configuration properly.
A basic setup check is sufficient for most users: confirm geometry, check for binding, and adjust toe and camber as needed. Experienced tuners may refine shock and roll centre settings to suit track conditions.
Inspect for hairline cracks after heavy use, keep fixing bolts torqued to spec, and avoid over-tightening which can stress mounting holes. Replace damaged pieces promptly to preserve handling.
