Precision steering upgrade using Tamiya 54704 aluminium arms

The Tamiya 54704 aluminium steering arms replace standard FRP pieces on TA07, TRF419 and TRF419X chassis to reduce flex and deliver steadier steering inputs. Modelled on TRF419 engineering, these arms help you hold lines more consistently through corners.

Main features explained

  • Material: Stiff aluminium construction for improved durability and reduced flex versus stock plastic.
  • Finish: Blue anodised coating that protects the metal and gives a neat finish.
  • Ball Bearings: Comes with 850 ball bearings pre-installed for smooth pivot action and better response.
  • Compatibility: Intended for TA07 PRO, TRF419 and TRF419X chassis families.

Fitment guidance

Combine these steering arms with Item 54705, the TA07 Aluminium Steering Bridge, to minimise lateral play and tighten the steering feel for sharper turn-in.

You always exceed my expectations with super fast delivery and great updates on the status of my orders. Thank you.
They are compatible with most aftermarket servo savers, but you should check mounting points and link clearances to ensure proper alignment and avoid binding.
It is good practice to recheck toe and camber after any front-end upgrade. Tiny tweaks to alignment can significantly affect handling once stiffness increases.
850 ball bearings are common in RC spares. Replace worn bearings with the same size to keep steering action smooth.
They suit both on-road and smoother off-road surfaces, but expect increased wear if used extensively on rough or gravel tracks; regular inspection is advised.
Follow original Tamiya torque guidelines for aluminium parts where available. Use moderate torque and apply thread locker on metal fasteners for durability.
