Refine TT-02 handling with the Tamiya 54875 oil gear differential

The Tamiya 54875 - TT-02 Oil Gear Differential Unit provides tunable internal damping for TT-02 chassis by using silicone oil to alter differential behaviour. It is a practical upgrade for fine-tuning steering balance and traction delivery.

Control differential action with silicone oil selection

Modifying the silicone oil viscosity changes the rate at which the diff gears rotate, which in turn affects turn-in, mid-corner balance and drive out of bends. Lighter oils suit loose or low-grip surfaces, while heavier fluids give steadier traction on tacky tracks.

Reliable construction and fitment details

The unit features a glass fiber-reinforced nylon gear case, gasket and four die-cast bevel gears for dependable operation. It is compatible with several TT-02 variants but requires the correct universal shaft assemblies to fit: Item 53792 for TT-02 and TT-02D, Item 53791 for TT-02B.

Once again a trouble free transaction , very cheaply priced including shipping , which arrived within 5 days of ordering , and very good quality parts for my Tamiya TT02. Much appreciated , keep up the good work :)
Use Item 53792 for standard TT-02 and TT-02D installations, or Item 53791 if you have the TT-02B layout. Fitment requires the matching shaft assembly.
Routine checks of the gasket and gears are recommended. Replace contaminated oil and inspect the die-cast gears after heavy use to maintain smooth performance.
Yes. Swapping silicone oils changes differential damping and can noticeably alter corner behaviour, so adjust progressively and test to find the best setup for your surface.
