The Toyota 86 first turned heads at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show and went on sale worldwide in 2012. Tamiya has captured those proportions in the Tamiya 58529, fitting the 1/10 sports car body atop the TT-01 Type-E chassis to create a faithful on-road replica.
The TT-01 Type-E features a shaft-driven 4WD system that promotes stable direction and traction on tarmac. Fully independent double wishbone suspension combined with bell-crank steering gives accurate steering feel, while friction dampers and radial rubber tyres provide consistent grip for both casual driving and track use.
The kit body is moulded in ABS plastic to reflect the Toyota 86 lines and stance. LED light fittings are not supplied, though the model accepts plated wheels and small cosmetic upgrades to enhance the finished appearance without altering the silhouette.
Being a builder kit, the Tamiya 58529 requires additional purchases to complete the model: a 7.2V battery pack, charger, radio transmitter and receiver, a servo for steering, and polycarbonate paints for the body. Ride height and gear ratio can be tailored to driving preference while camber and toe angles are fixed for a reliable baseline setting.
The Tamiya 58529 - 1/10 RC Toyota 86 TT-01E Chassis Kit suits modellers who want an accurate, tuneable on-road sports car with straightforward assembly and clear upgrade paths.
