The Ferrari 458 Challenge stems from the 458 Italia and launched in 2009 as the F430 replacement. It features a 4,500cc engine producing 570ps at 9,000rpm and benefitted from Michael Schumacher's development input for track performance. Tamiya faithfully recreates this car as a 1/10 assembly on the TT-02 chassis.
The TT-02 chassis is aimed at hobbyists who want a tough but tweakable platform. It builds on the TT-01 with improved compatibility for modern battery packs and clearer adjustment options. The 4WD system helps provide balanced handling and secure traction on road circuits.
Key features include brake disc style wheel hubs for authenticity, independent double wishbone suspension fitted with friction dampers, and a longitudinal motor and battery layout for neutral handling. The chassis design also allows an extra 4mm rise for higher clearance configurations.
The Tamiya 58560 Ferrari 458 Challenge TT-02 kit is ideal for modellers who want an accurate race shell with a chassis that is forgiving to build and easy to upgrade for better performance.
