Tamiya has reissued the Hotshot II with design input from Jun Watanabe, preserving the model's historic identity while making assembly more user friendly. This 1/10 scale kit stays true to the original proportions and character.
The Hotshot II is supplied with a blue polycarbonate body that arrives pre-cut and pre-painted to reduce finishing work. The raised roll cage changes the driver profile and the matte metal-plated uprights and wheels add a period-correct touch. Blockhead Motors sticker sheets are included for authentic detailing.
Under the body the chassis uses a 4-wheel drive arrangement with double wishbone suspension and CVA II oil dampers. It is built around a 540-type brushed motor footprint; ESC, radio equipment and battery are not supplied and should be selected to match the motor and intended running conditions.
While both kits share Blockhead Motors aesthetics, the Hotshot II offers a different suspension feel and driving balance versus the Wild One, making it attractive to those who prefer a classic off-road handling style.
The Hotshot II is a good choice for collectors and drivers who enjoy vintage R/C models but want a kit that is straightforward to finish and enjoyable to run on loose surfaces.
