The McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom II first flew in May 1958 and went on to serve in multiple key roles across many air arms. Its multi-role capability—from interception to reconnaissance and strike—made it a defining design of its generation, notably active during Vietnam-era operations.
Throughout the 1960s and 70s the Phantom demonstrated exceptional speed, service ceiling and operational range against contemporaries. These attributes underpinned its widespread use and long service life in a range of operational environments.
The Tamiya 1/32 kit captures the Phantom's lines with refined moulding and surface detailing. Components come in light grey plastic and support builds of either the C or D variant. A complete weapons load, metal landing gear and synthetic-rubber tyres are provided to enhance realism in the completed model.
