The Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon was created by General Dynamics as a single-engine multirole fighter for the United States Air Force. Designed first for daylight air superiority missions, the F-16 has since become an adaptable all-weather combat aircraft. Production numbers have passed 4,500 airframes since 1976.
Tamiya captures that lineage in this 1/72 scale F-16CJ Block 50 kit. Following earlier larger-scale releases, this small-scale version retains the brand's reputation for tidy panel detail and faithful proportions, making it a solid choice where space is limited.
The kit models the F-16CJ Block 50 aerodynamic form, showing accurate wing and fuselage blending. It depicts a post-2010 aircraft with CCIP enhancements and includes dedicated parts for AMRAAMs and a bubble canopy moulded with slide-mould technology. There are three marking options included on the decal sheet for variation.
