Celebrated for its short take-off and landing capabilities, the Fieseler Fi156C Storch filled many wartime roles from liaison and observation to casualty evacuation. It took part in notable episodes like the Mussolini rescue, and commanders including Rommel depended on its scouting ability.
As part of Tamiya's 1/48 Aircraft Series milestone, the Fi156C kit provides a precise assembly option that captures the aircraft's character while offering multiple configuration possibilities for accurate historical modelling.
The kit is engineered to 1/48 scale with parts allowing different fittings such as an extra fuel tank, ski gear and three canopy variations. Clear canopy panels are moulded into the fuselage halves to keep glazing true to scale.
Key structural parts like the internal wing spar and landing gear members are supplied as metal pieces to improve durability and realistic appearance. The set also contains pilot and commander figures and a set of photo-etched parts for the cockpit and framing to enhance fine scale detail.
