The Tamiya 70167 Single Gear Box serves as a clear example of basic geartrain principles for robotics and teaching projects. Its four selectable ratios allow practical demonstrations of the trade off between torque and rotational speed.
Configured around a single motor, the gearbox features 12.7:1, 38.2:1, 114.7:1 and 344.2:1 ratios. These settings let you adapt output for lighter, faster tasks or slower, torque-heavy operations. A motor cover and crank arm are supplied to assist with fitting to multiple Tamiya frameworks.
The gearbox uses moulded plastic for case and gears, designed for regular handling in educational or hobby settings. An FA-130 type motor is included, making it easy to add to small robots, classroom builds and other Tamiya projects.
