The Tamiya 72007 4-Speed High Power Gearbox HE provides a hands-on way to study gearbox behaviour and drive characteristics. It suits prototyping and classroom demonstrations where swapping gear settings helps illustrate mechanical fundamentals.
Available gear ratios are 39.6:1, 47.6:1, 61.7:1, and 74:1, enabling direct comparison of speed versus torque. Ratio changes are made by modifying the motor pinion, spur gear position, and gear attachment for rapid testing.
The gearbox works with Type 260 motor speeds in the 5040 to 6300 RPM range at 1.5V, and includes a 4mm threaded driveshaft plus two 12mm hex wheel hubs for common wheel fits. An adapter is supplied for use with separately available 130 and 140 motors, expanding fit options across other Tamiya kits.
