Targeted at serious drift hobbyists, the Tamiya 84205 TB-03 VDS offers a shaft-driven 4WD arrangement that improves power delivery and handling predictability. Drawing on TA05-VDF roots, it is focused on stable drift behaviour and easy setup changes.

Carbon Chassis and Structural Reinforcement

The 2.5mm carbon fibre lower deck is supported by aluminium braces at the centre of both gearboxes to reduce flex. The two-part propeller shaft runs along the centreline while battery, motor and receiver gear sit to either side for consistent weight balance.

Fine-Tune Suspension and Steering

Double wishbone suspension with short reversible arms offers a range of tuning options familiar to TB-03 and TRF users. Threaded aluminium shock bodies and low-friction pistons deliver precise damping control, and the parallel steering geometry keeps steering angles symmetrical for cleaner counter-steer inputs.

Drift-Oriented Hardware

The kit includes a front ball diff and a rear direct coupling spool to tailor slip and traction characteristics. Aluminium turnbuckles, universal shafts and robust hex hubs increase reliability, while the hi-torque servo saver and steel diff joints stand up to demanding drift sessions.
