The Tamiya 87122 Diorama Texture Paint is intended to recreate sandy surfaces on scale models and display boards. Its water based formulation contains coloured ceramic particles to produce a subtle light sand grit texture suited to arid scenes.

Application Coverage and Dry Time

A 250ml bottle will cover approximately a B4 area using around 2.5 thin coats, which makes it useful for medium to large diorama layouts. Drying typically takes 4-5 hours so plan additional detailing after the texture has set.

Common Modelling Uses

Ideal for military displays, vehicle presentation boards and desert dioramas, the light sand grit effect adds surface variation and helps subsequent weathering techniques sit more realistically.
