The Tamiya 87170 Polishing Sponge Sheet 2000 uses aluminium oxide abrasive over a 5mm sponge backing to deliver controlled material removal for scale modelling tasks. It gives predictable results on small parts and curved panels.
Use the sheet on plastic bodies, painted components, wood and metal to smooth joins, eliminate light scratches and prepare surfaces for final polish.
With dimensions of 114x140mm the sheet is practical to cut with a modelling knife into custom shapes or narrow strips for precise sanding. It is also compatible with wet sanding techniques.
The reverse side carries the product markings including the grit designation so you can confirm the 2000 grade at a glance.
