The Fiat CR42 Falco stands out as one of the last biplane fighters actively used in WWII, combining a sturdy metal fuselage with aluminium wing construction for nimble handling. Although modern fighters outclassed it, the CR42 found continued use in regional operations and was later employed by the Luftwaffe for training and nocturnal harassment missions after 1943.
This Tamiya kit, using Italeri tooling, accurately reproduces the CR42 at 1/48 scale with detailed parts and realistic options. Builders can fit the model with or without the wheel spats to vary the look. The set includes a pilot figure plus accessories like 50kg bombs, fuel drums and jerry cans, and provides four marking alternatives including Western Front patterns.
