The British Armored Car Staghound Mk.I earned a distinct service record. Designed in the US as the Ford T17E1 4X4, it was powered by twin Chevrolet 270 motors and fitted with a 37mm turret gun plus three machine guns. Although the M8 Greyhound was preferred by US forces, the Staghound saw extensive use with British and Commonwealth troops in Italy from 1943 until the end of hostilities, and it remained in service after the war across regions including the Middle East and Central America.
This Tamiya 1/35 scale kit faithfully recreates the Staghound Mk.Is angular hull form and practical fittings. The model includes detailed leaf spring suspension and permits open side and turret hatches to display interior items such as the turret basket and radio equipment. Additional accessories like canvas rolls, jerry cans and a roof-mounted machine gun enhance the finished presentation.
Precision photo-etched parts are supplied to sharpen small details, and five decal marking choices give scope for historically based finishes. The three included British figures allow quick scene setting. This kit suits modellers looking for a historically accurate vehicle for display or diorama work.
