The Tamiya 94708 - JR Dash-X1 Proto Emperor is built on the VS chassis and features a reinforced polycarbonate ABS resin body to improve durability when racing. First launched as a body parts set in 1990, the 2005 retool provides improved assembly and retains the classic profile enthusiasts expect.
The VS chassis combines light construction with adequate stiffness for competitive setups. Included are narrow, large-diameter wheels with a silver-plated finish and arched tyres that help maintain consistent grip. The kit is supplied with 16mm rollers and a Type 130 motor, delivering a 4.2:1 gear ratio for a balanced performance envelope.
The Dash-X1 Proto Emperor accepts a wide range of Tamiya option parts, allowing builders to swap propeller shafts, fit hardened gear shafts or try different motors to suit particular track conditions and driving style.
