Avante Mk.II V Special description

The Tamiya 94716 Avante Mk.II V Special is aimed at enthusiasts who want both a striking display model and a platform for tuning. Built on the adaptable MS chassis, the kit supports multiple setup choices for different track conditions. It comes with N-02 and T-01 units to strengthen the build and improve flexibility in tuning. The violet metal plated finish gives the car a premium look whether on a mantel or a race table.

Handling and component details

The MS chassis provides a stable centre of mass that helps when dialling in handling balance between speed and cornering. Low-profile tyres with white lettering complement the look while aiding traction on cleaner track surfaces. Carbon dish wheels are provided for durability during frequent runs.

Drive train and race readiness

This model features high-speed gearing with a 3.5:1 ratio and a double shaft motor arrangement that suits sprint racing. Fitted front and rear 16mm guide rollers help maintain line through bends on typical circuits. The kit requires two R6/AA/UM3 batteries which must be purchased separately.

  • Scale: 1/32
  • Body Material: Violet Metal Plated
  • Chassis Type: MS
  • Tires: Low-profile with white lettering
  • Wheels: Carbon Dish
  • Motor Type: Double Shaft
  • Guide Rollers: Front and Rear 16mm
For steady output pick quality NiMH rechargeables or premium alkaline cells. Rechargeables give consistent performance lap after lap and reduce running costs if you race regularly.
The plated finish looks robust for display and normal track use, but avoid heavy impacts and handle the shell carefully during assembly to keep the finish intact.
Lowering ride height slightly, refining roller positions, and choosing a gear ratio suited to acceleration rather than top speed will improve lap times on twisty layouts.
