JR Zenquish Tamiya 94870 - VS Chassis Collector Edition

The Tamiya 94870 JR Zenquish VS Chassis is a limited edition Mini 4WD kit that caters to both collectors and practical racers. It honours the original 1990s design language while supplying the VS chassis platform for improved handling and durability on the track.

Chassis Construction and Aesthetics

The VS chassis is moulded in robust ABS to give a solid foundation for racing setups. The body represents the Item 15088 Zenquish style and the A-parts come in Light Gun Metal ABS for a distinctive appearance. FRP components including the front under-guard and chassis under-guard increase rigidity and protect vulnerable areas.

Performance Notes and Fitment

The kit includes FRP accessories such as the Multi Roller Setting Stay and Rear Roller Stay which fit Super X style parts, offering flexible tuning. Carbon reinforced narrow wheels with arched tyres deliver effective traction and speed balance. Low friction rollers in 13mm and 19mm sizes, aluminium collars and stainless screws enable fine adjustments. Remember that a Type 130 motor is required but not supplied with the kit.

  • Scale: 1/32
  • Length: 155mm
  • Width: 104mm
  • Height: 49mm
  • Material: ABS and FRP
  • Gear Ratio: 4:1
  • Motor: Type 130 (not included)
  • Batteries: Two AA (not included)
The chassis accepts Type 130 motors. Choose a motor grade that balances acceleration and top speed depending on your track layout and gear ratio preferences.
Inspect FRP stays and under-guards after hard runs and replace if cracked. Tighten stainless screws and check collars regularly to keep roller alignment accurate.
The kit provides unpainted parts and decals must be applied separately. Use model paints suitable for ABS and allow proper drying before track use.
Gear changes follow the standard 1/32 Mini 4WD layout; swapping gears to alter the 4:1 setup requires careful selection to maintain motor and torque compatibility.
Before each run, check screws, roller play, tyre seating and battery condition. Small adjustments to roller heights and wheel alignment often improve lap consistency.
