Azente Progress Mini 4WD with Super-II Chassis

The Tamiya 94871 JR Azente Progress is released as a limited 1/32 Mini 4WD kit mounted on the Super-II chassis. It blends a heritage-inspired body with modern tuning parts, aimed at hobbyists who focus on handling and lap consistency. The kit is as much about setup potential as it is about period-correct styling.

Materials and Aesthetic Highlights

The base Super-II chassis is injection moulded from ABS in a crisp black finish for a sleek appearance. The model includes light gun metal A-parts and EX side stays that add both form and function. The Azente shell recalls a noted 1990s designer look while being shaped to aid airflow during high speed runs.

Performance Parts and Customisation

Large-diameter carbon reinforced wheels with low-profile tyres are supplied to balance speed and grip. Precision 13mm aluminium bearing rollers and 19mm low friction rollers improve cornering stability, and mass dampers are provided to tame rapid direction changes. The drivetrain uses a 3.5:1 ratio and is compatible with Type 130 motors for tailored performance choices.

  • Scale: 1/32

  • Motor: Type 130 (sold separately)
Yes, with the right tuning and motor choice the Super-II chassis can be set up for club level competition while retaining a classic appearance.
Painting the shell prior to final assembly is common practice; mask off windows and test-fit parts first to avoid painting areas that need mechanical contact.
Regular cleaning of bearings, checking roller alignment and replacing worn tyres will preserve performance. Periodic inspection of side stays and chassis mounting points prevents handling issues.
