Overview of the Tamiya 95712 Dash-1 Emperor silver body and decal set

The silver-plated Dash-1 Emperor body recreates the signature look from earlier anniversary editions, combining a reflective surface with metallic sticker artwork to produce an authentic period appearance. It is a visual replacement part intended for accurate aesthetic restoration.

This kit supplies a silver-plated main body plus a metallic sticker sheet and is compatible with Super-II and Type 3 chassis formats. The emphasis here is on fit and visual restoration rather than performance tuning. The styling reflects the Dash-1 Emperor theme found on multiple past Tamiya releases.

Material: Plastic body with silver-plated finish

Included items: Metallic sticker sheet

Compatibility: Super-II chassis, Type 3 chassis

Finish: Metallic silver plating

Suited for period-accurate restorations and display projects where the Dash-1 Emperor livery is desired on Super-II or Type 3 based models.

The moulding follows the familiar Dash-1 Emperor silhouette used in previous releases, but minor differences in decal artwork and plating hue can occur between production batches.
Ensure the plated surface is clean and free of oils. If needed, lightly wipe with a suitable solvent on a cloth and let fully dry before applying decals to optimise adhesion.
Standard modelling tools are sufficient. A fine knife for trimming and soft sanding blocks for small adjustments are often all that is required for precise fitment.
This body is primarily decorative. While it can be mounted on running cars, many modellers choose to reserve plated bodies for display or limited use to retain the finish.
It references earlier commemorative editions, but differences in plating tone and decal printing may exist. Consult reference photos if matching a particular variant is critical.
If you plan to paint, prepare the surface carefully and test compatibility. Many builders prefer to use the plated finish as the final look and apply decals after any clear coating to protect the metal effect.
