This aluminium servo saver and tie rod set is an aftermarket replacement for the Tamiya CW-01 (Lunch Box) chassis, part LB024TM. It provides a firmer steering linkage and a replaceable 24T splined saver that improves durability compared with many stock plastic parts.
The saver cushions impact to the steering gear while the aluminium tie rod gives a robust steering connection. On installation check spline alignment at the servo and ensure tie rod ends are fastened correctly to prevent any binding across the steering geometry.
Installation notes: remove the original saver and tie rod, transfer any necessary ball cups or spacers, then fit the aluminium saver onto the servo spline and connect the aluminium tie rod to the steering knuckles. Verify full travel and centred position before running and re-check screw torque after the first run.
Tuning advice: the stiffer aluminium saver and tie rod reduce flex and maintain consistent steering feedback during spirited driving, but they can pass greater shock loads to the servo. If upgrading from plastic, consider softer steering elements elsewhere or a higher torque servo for demanding use.
