Precision aluminium saver for CW-01 steering

This hi-torque aluminium servo saver is an aftermarket steering upgrade for the Tamiya CW-01 (Lunch Box) chassis, listed as model LB024STM. The 43T aluminium saver body and a steel tie rod combine to give a robust link from the servo output to the steering linkage on CW-01 models.

As a replacement for the stock plastic saver, this aluminium unit cushions impact loads while maintaining the mechanical feedback required for steering setup. The stiffer aluminium body reduces flex under load and the steel tie rod keeps steering geometry accurate under harder use.

Installation follows standard CW-01 servicing: remove the original saver, transfer or adjust linkage as appropriate, and mount the aluminium saver into the existing points. After installation, confirm steering is centred and fine-tune horn or tie rod ends as necessary to restore correct geometry.

Suitable for modders and hobbyists fitting higher torque servos or seeking improved durability for CW-01 steering. Always check compatibility with your servo horn and linkage hardware prior to full-speed running.

The aluminium saver is stiffer than plastic, so you may notice firmer feedback; it still offers some cushioning to protect the servo while improving consistency.
The supplied steel tie rod keeps alignment and is intended to be adjusted using standard rod ends; check and set the correct length for your steering geometry.
Ensure all screws are torqued, use locktite where appropriate, and trim or adjust the servo horn and rod ends to minimise free play while keeping smooth movement.
