This hi-torque aluminium servo saver paired with an aluminium tie rod is intended as an aftermarket upgrade for the Tamiya CW-01 (Lunch Box) chassis and is supplied as a matched set. Upgrading from plastic reduces flex under load and cuts lost motion, while the aluminium tie rod stiffens the path from servo to steering knuckle for cleaner input transfer.
The saver is made with a 25T spline to suit many hobby servos that use 25 teeth. Aluminium construction aims for repeatable steering feedback and dimensional stability. Always double-check spline match and horn clearance on your servo for CW-01 fittings before completing the install.
How to fit: remove the original saver, align the 25T spline with the servo output, install and secure the horn, then connect the aluminium tie rod and verify the steering sweep is free. Maintain the slight free-play recommended by your steering geometry to avoid direct shock transfer to the servo.
Track advice: the upgrade yields a snappier steering feel; if you notice binding or heavier return forces, re-check horn alignment, adjust link length, and apply minor trims on the transmitter to rebalance the steering centre.
