Product overview and user guidance

The JR-LB08-LB assembly is an RC-grade aluminium servo saver with a matching aluminium tie rod set made specifically for the TAMIYA CW-01 Lunch Box chassis. Replacing plastic components with aluminium cuts flex and improves steering consistency for regular driving and light competition use.

Fitting is intended for those comfortable with CW-01 steering components. The servo saver interfaces with a 25T spline found on many steering servos, and the tie rods use the conventional ball joint and thread interfaces on Lunch Box steering knuckles. During assembly ensure correct spline engagement and confirm thread depth at both ends to avoid binding.

In practice the aluminium kit yields a stiffer steering response and more consistent behaviour under heavy steering loads. Owners will notice less free play than with OEM plastic parts, which is beneficial when using stronger servos or when fine-tuning steering response on the CW-01 platform.

They are more impact-resistant than stock plastic, but aluminium will bend under severe impacts. Inspect after heavy knocks and replace bent components to keep steering true.
No geometry changes are required as link lengths and knuckle positions remain the same. Fine trimming may be needed to remove any initial play introduced during installation.
Perform routine inspections after every few sessions and always after crashes. Check rod-end tightness, thread condition, and ball joint wear to maintain safe steering operation.
