This graphite main shaft is produced for the Tamiya F103RM platform and listed as F103RM-02. Using graphite gives a stiffer central drive element versus the standard plastic shaft, intended for hobbyists fine-tuning driveline and chassis behaviour on 1/10 on-road vehicles.
Replacing the kit main shaft, this part becomes the torsional spine of the driveline and alters how the chassis reacts to inputs by limiting torsional compliance between the front and rear. A stiffer shaft typically reduces mid-corner roll and can tighten the car's handling when matched with suspension and ballast changes.
Installation follows normal F103 procedures: remove the original shaft using the kit guide, inspect bearings and spacers and replace any worn items, slide the graphite shaft into the drive stack and reassemble with the kit hardware while maintaining true alignment. Confirm driveline freeplay and rotate the wheels to ensure smooth operation before running.
