This machined aluminum front damper stay is an upgrade part for TAMIYA Thunder Dragon and Thunder Shot buggies, intended to replace the stock plastic stay. The added rigidity reduces mount flex and gives a more consistent reference for damper positioning during demanding driving.
Fitting is a direct replacement process: remove the original stay, carry over any existing mounting caps or spacers, and secure the new stay with the OEM screws. Use the correct hex drivers, check alignment before you tighten fully, and avoid excessive torque. Thread locker can be used on steel screws if compatible with the rest of your hardware.
Role in setup: the stay improves repeatability at the damper mounting points without changing basic suspension geometry. That repeatability aids in refining spring and damping settings. After installation, verify there is no rubbing against shock towers or steering components during full travel.
