Made as an aftermarket option for the Tamiya GF-01 chassis, this 23T aluminium servo saver swaps in for the factory plastic unit while retaining the standard 23-tooth spline. The metal construction is aimed at reducing play between the servo and steering linkages for better on-track repeatability.
Fitting is done by removing the existing saver, sliding the 23T spline onto the servo output shaft and securing the servo horn to the saver. The supplied aluminium tie rod connects to the steering knuckles; adjust its length to match original geometry and check toe across full steering travel to avoid binding.
Technically the aluminium saver trades some impact dampening for a firmer connection, which helps steering accuracy but requires careful checks for compatibility with servo travel and mounting. Confirm spline match and test before heavy use.
