Aluminium ball differential tailored for M04M

This aluminium ball differential is a dedicated upgrade for the Tamiya M04M differential position and compatible Tamiya kits sharing the same layout. It replaces the standard unit with a robust metal housing and a serviceable ball mechanism to help deliver consistent drivetrain response while tuning.

Offered as a replacement hop-up rather than as a full gearbox assembly, the component provides tunable centre traction and torque transfer so you can tweak handling balance without modifying suspension or motor hardware.

Installation and tuning notes:

• Remove the original differential from the M04M casing following your usual procedure, then inspect the mating surfaces for wear before fitting the aluminium unit.
• Fit the correct grease and use shims to set preload for your preferred feel, and ensure the diff rotates smoothly by hand before completing the rebuild.
• Conduct bench testing and slow-speed runs to ensure drivetrain smoothness and to dial in handling after fitting.
