Aluminium Motor Plate for MF01X Chassis

This aluminium motor plate is an aftermarket upgrade intended for use on TAMIYA MF01X chassis, providing a stiffer mounting surface than the factory plastic plate.

Compatibility and role: purpose-built for the MF01X motor bay to act as the primary motor mounting surface. The added stiffness helps preserve motor alignment and supports consistent gear engagement during dynamic on-road running.

Installation notes: installs into the motor bay using the original mounting points on the chassis. Fitting normally requires removal of the existing plate, placing the aluminium plate in the same position, and reusing the original motor fixings with common hobby tools.

Tuning considerations: opt for this plate to firm up motor placement for higher torque motors or to cut down on chassis flex when braking and accelerating. The aluminium construction also offers improved passive heat spread compared with plastic alternatives.

Is fitting reversible if I want to return to the stock plate?

Yes, the plate uses the original mounting points and hardware, so you can reinstall the stock plate at any time.

Will this plate change final drive geometry?

No geometry changes are expected when correctly fitted; always check gear mesh after installation to confirm correct engagement.

Should I use threadlocker on the motor screws?

Small amounts of medium-strength threadlocker on motor fasteners can help prevent loosening, but follow the motor and chassis manufacturer's guidance for torque settings.
