Rear gearbox replacement suited to Tamiya TA chassis

This aluminium rear gearbox cover is built for Tamiya TA01, TA02 and DF01 chassis and features a gun metal finish. It replaces the standard rear gearbox cover with a metal alternative aimed at improving mechanical stability during maintenance and setup work.

Compatibility is confined to the specified TA01, TA02 and DF01 models; the design uses the chassis' existing rear gearbox fixings for direct-fit replacement in standard TA assemblies.

The component is mechanical in function, adding a more rigid enclosure around the rear wavebox to help maintain gear mesh and alignment during normal running and minor adjustments. When installing, reuse the original fasteners and recheck clearances to avoid interference.

Can this cover be used with aftermarket gearsets?

Yes, it is compatible with aftermarket gearsets provided those gears fit the standard TA01/TA02/DF01 layout; always confirm clearances before running.

Will I need to add shims or spacers?

Shimming is normally not required if the existing gearbox geometry is retained, but check mesh after fitting and add minor shims only if necessary to correct accurate tooth contact.

Does the cover change electronic components or wiring space?
