39mm two-section CVD introduction

The 39mm double-section CVD is an aftermarket 1/10-scale drivetrain component for TAMIYA XV-series vehicles. Turned from 4140 carbon steel, the two-piece constant velocity joint is aimed at maintaining consistent torque transfer and offering cleaner rotation than worn dog-bone setups when fitted and aligned correctly.

The box contains two double-section CVDs and two M4 lock nuts, recorded as 2 pcs per item. These components are finished to suit the outer drive cups on the XV-02 and XV01 chassis; confirm axle length and joint travel before committing to installation. The OEM option was a 37mm unit, so use matching 39mm dog bones to retain full articulation with these CVDs.

Compatible Models

  • TAMIYA-1/10 4WD XV-02 PRO CHASSIS-58707
  • TAMIYA-XV01

Fit these steel two-piece CVDs when replacing tired dog-bone driveline parts; verify drive cup clearance and tighten the supplied M4 lock nuts to the correct preload. This product is intended as a direct drivetrain replacement for the listed TAMIYA models.

Best prices around. Everything is well packaged and quick postage.
The parts are supplied as two CVDs and can be used on either axle where the outer drive cup and axle geometry match the specified dimensions.
The 4140 carbon steel construction improves strength and wear resistance, making these CVDs suitable for moderately higher torque setups, though driveline tuning should be checked for extreme power.
Standard hand tools plus an M4 driver are sufficient; ensure correct axle length and use a torque approach that avoids over-tightening the lock nuts.
Cycle the suspension through full travel and inspect for binding at the joint and in the drive cups; swap to 39mm dog bones if movement is restricted.
