Aluminium spur gear carrier for TB-04

This aluminium spur gear carrier is supplied as a single set and is made for the TAMIYA TB-04 touring chassis. Manufactured by GPM, it locates and secures the spur gear within the TB-04 gearbox assembly to help maintain correct mesh and alignment during normal use and when you change setup items.

As an aftermarket aluminium carrier, the component provides a rigid contact area between the spur and the gearbox supports. In tuning and race-prep it assists in keeping mesh and lash settings consistent when swapping spur gears or adjusting driveshaft components, reducing the need to rework alignment after minor changes.

Installation follows standard TB-04 service procedures: remove the factory spur retaining components, fit the aluminium carrier as a replacement, verify spur-to-pinion mesh and axial clearance, and then reassemble the gearbox. The part is intended for RC-scale TB-04 gearboxes only and should be trial-fitted prior to final assembly.

The carrier stabilises the spur position which can make gear engagement feel more consistent, though overall drive behaviour depends on the rest of the drivetrain setup.
It is designed as an aftermarket upgrade to improve stability; many racers use aluminium components for greater consistency, but confirm rules and personal preferences before fitting for competition.
After fitting confirm mesh, check for any axial play and ensure bearings and shafts seat correctly before you run the car at speed.
