Front damper introduction

This alloy front spring damper set is an aftermarket upgrade for the TRAXXAS 1/10 Rustler VXL chassis. The kit features an adjustable damper body with alloy ball top and alloy ball ends plus three coil spring wire sizes to tune initial spring rate. The 4mm shaft and alloy build are aimed at improving longevity and consistent bench-to-track setup.

Fitment uses the Rustler VXL stock front suspension attachment points so no chassis cutting is required when swapping in these dampers. Alloy ball top and ball ends provide a firmer suspension link than some plastic parts, helping to reduce free play. Use the supplied spring range to experiment with ride height and front-end balance; thicker wire raises initial stiffness while thinner wire relaxes it.

Begin setup with the 1.5mm spring and neutral preload and rebound, then try the 1.3mm or 1.7mm springs to refine traction and steering response. Ensure the threaded collars engage correctly and that the 4mm shaft runs freely through the full travel. Regularly inspect ball ends and mounting hardware after several runs to maintain secure fitment.
