Aluminium oil shocks engineered for GT4 balance

This 16-piece oil-filled damper kit is designed for the TRAXXAS 4WD GT4 TEC 2.0 layout and is identified by model GT5053FR. It is intended to lower ride height and stiffen suspension elements while keeping routine maintenance and setup work straightforward for circuit and road-style touring machines.

The dampers are built with 6061 T6 aluminium bodies to cut flex, paired with a higher-concentration damping fluid for more consistent rebound. Coil springs use a thicker wire gauge to resist deformation during demanding driving, while reinforced damper shafts reduce the risk of bending. Front units are 53mm and rear units 50mm, trimming overall length from earlier 55mm items to lower the centre of gravity and sharpen response.

Installation follows normal oil-damper practice: they mount to existing shock towers and lower mounts on GT4-style chassis using the supplied fixings. Supplied small alloy collars fit at the upper mounting hole to alter shock angle and subtle body tilt without changing spring preload, allowing quick adjustments to front/rear balance.

When a lower stance and firmer suspension are required on a GT4 touring car, this damper set provides a straight swap with reinforced shafts and tuning collars to refine handling without extensive chassis changes.
