Spare shock springs for Traxxas MAXX

Two gold spare springs crafted for RC-scale Traxxas MAXX front and rear dampers, intended to let you adjust preload and shock stiffness to match different driving conditions. Produced by GPM (TXMSF/R/SPGD).

Details: made from spring steel with an overall length of 85mm, outer diameter 27.2mm and inner diameter 23mm. The coil pitch results in a coil length of 2.1mm, which is 0.3mm thicker than the original spring. The gold finish offers a distinct look on the shock assembly.

Fit and tuning: to fit, remove the damper, swap the spring and reassemble. Adjust the shock top cap to change preload and the effective spring rate, allowing you to fine-tune ride height and compression response for different surfaces.

Compatibility advice: suitable for Traxxas original dampers and GPM Racing dampers as listed; always check shock body and seat dimensions for correct fitment.

Packing includes

  • Gold Spring - 2pcs

Original Name / Part No:

8966 (Front) / 8967 (Rear)

Compatible Models

  • Traxxas original dampers
  • GPM Racing dampers
They are suitable for tuning ride height and stiffness; for competitive racing pair spring changes with damper oil and valving adjustments to match track conditions.
No special tools are required beyond those used for standard shock disassembly; be careful when compressing springs during reassembly to avoid pinching.
Spring rate and preload changes can alter how the shock uses travel; verify there is no binding or premature bottoming after fitting and adjust preload accordingly.
