Centre gearbox skid protector

This aluminium center gear box bottom protector is a scale accessory for the TRAXXAS TRX4 Trail Crawler, supplied as a 2pcs set. Made from lightweight aluminium to limit added mass, it provides a flat protective panel beneath the centre gearbox to impede sand and tiny stones and to disperse impact forces away from the gearbox case.

The kit contains one stainless steel flat head screw 3x14 for initial fitment. The protector's face includes locating holes matched to the upper main shaft screw positions so the main shaft can be fitted or removed without taking off the protector, which speeds up routine maintenance on the trail.

The surface is finished with a hard, scratch-resistant coating to withstand normal trail wear; rinse off any trapped grit after running and check mounting threads before each session. The mount is intended purely as protection for scale off-road crawling and does not modify gearing or drivetrain settings.

Parts are very nice. Fit very well. Easy to install. But screws are sometimes to short. And piece was not drilled and tapped deep enough. But overall excellent workmanship. Your shipping leaves a lot to be desired. And it seems tha you got a little confus

Does fitting require changing gearbox parts?

No gearbox part changes should be needed; the plate mounts to the TRX4 centre gearbox area using existing mounting points.

Can the main shaft be removed with the plate in place?

Yes, access holes in the protector allow removal or installation of the upper main shaft screws without taking the protector off.

How should I look after the protector?

After trail use rinse away abrasive grit, ensure the 3x14 screw remains tight and inspect mounting threads for wear prior to the next outing.
