Stainless skid plate upgrade for Unlimited Desert Racer

The UDRZSP567 kit is an 18-piece stainless skid plate upgrade tailored for Traxxas 1:7 Unlimited Desert Racer Pro-Scale models. It uses 1mm and 2mm 304 stainless plates arranged across the front, centre and rear chassis to reduce direct impact to the chassis shell and battery cover during heavy off-road use.

Mounting hardware in the kit supports replacing the original plastic protection or adding an extra metal layer where needed. Two POM collars are supplied to sit between a plate and the rear axle case to help stabilise the assembly, while double-sided tape sections are pre-applied around the battery cover area to aid adhesion once fitted.

Installation is simple: remove the original screws at each mounting location, position the plates and secure with the supplied screws. The kit includes round head and flat head screws in the sizes listed in the original contents and the POM collars are used where noted to avoid contact with moving components. For a better bond with the tape, ensure the chassis surface is clean and dry and warm the tape and battery cover briefly before pressing firmly.

This aftermarket protection kit adds metal reinforcement to common impact zones on the Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer while remaining removable using the supplied fasteners and collars.
